This month we will have Denise Dyer, the Director of Pierce County’s Economic Development Department as our Guest Speaker.She is going to give us all the information that she can on current and future business’s in the Frederickson Community. Hopefully she can fill us in on what is going on at 176th & Canyon, 192nd & 50th, 192nd & 38th, the Niagra Plant @ 200th & Canyon, and maybe more about the James Hardie and Toray expansion. She should have information on the number of workers who work in Frederickson and about how much more industrial lands that we still have left to develop. Hopefully, she will have information of how much the tax base of Pierce County is helped because of the businesses and industries in Frederickson.

Next Month, Eggstravaganza is scheduled for April 19th, so we will not meet in April.  Members are encouraged to volunteer to staff our booth at the event. Mike Goodell, our bunny, has his suit already lined up but needs to borrow a good sturdy decorative 2 person garden type bench that is capable of handling  2 adults, or 1 bunny and several children. If you have a bench matching this description, and would loan it out for April 19th, please contact Mike @ 253-318-7876 or mgoodellwood@aol.com. An additional note is that we may need a willing alternate bunny if Mike gets a much need foot surgery prior to the April 19th date.

The Events Committee is working hard on the Summer Movie Night and Freddie Fest. We still need help finding sponsors and vendors for both events. For those who are not familiar, Freddie Fest is our annual Community Festival. It consists of a Car Show, a Chili Challenge, and a variety of Vendors. Mike Goodell is the Chair for Freddie Fest and he wants me to invite folks to participate in the Chili Challenge. So if your business, company, Home Owners Assn, or even your family would like to join in a friendly competition preparing Chili, please contact Mike using the info in the above paragraph.

If you still haven’t renewed you FCCCC Membership, I’ve attached our renewal form.

Finally, as most of us know, Frederickson does not have a Public Park. The Cross Park Group is working with Legislators in Olympia who may help provide funding to finance plans and engineering. Please hit reply to this email and ask for the list of Senators that need to be contacted and I will forward the list to you.
