Pierce County must review and update (if necessary) the      Comprehensive Plan by June 30, 2015

The Pierce County Comprehensive Plan is an adopted policy document that guides County decisions related to growth and development in unincorporated Pierce County
This planning document extends beyond land use patterns and permitted activity. It provides consistent policy direction for:

• Housing
• Parks and open space
• Community health and well being
• Environmentally sensitive areas
• Historic preservation
• Public services and facilities

Honor past planning work and carry forward the vision for Pierce County.

Eleven community plans were adopted in Pierce County between 1999 and 2009. Each plan included public engagement that helped refine the direction of community development in Pierce County. The valuable input provided through these planning processes will be relied on through the Update.
