Yesterday at a Pierce County Council committee meeting, Connie Ladenburg tried to question why the committee was funding a group called “Youth Life” when in their application, they state, “Our agency’s mission is to introduce teens to Jesus Christ”. Connie tried to call out that this is a violation of state funding of religion and should be questioned. Jim McCune, Republican chair of the committee cut Connie off and would not allow her to continue questioning the expenditure, saying it should be handled “in private”. In other words cover it up.
