Spanaway Cemetery Cleanup

By Loretta Fulk and Marianne Lincoln

Over 80 youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their leaders in the greater Graham area, prepared the Spanaway Cemetery for the Memorial Day Weekend on May 24.  Four groups participated, along with members from Fir Lane, Spanaway Historical Society and the Pierce Prairie Post.

From weed eaters, rakes, wheelbarrows, and brooms to placing flags and flowers, the Youth were successful in transforming the Cemetery.  You should drive by to see it.

This is so wonderful it brought tears to my eyes. Many years ago my cadet Girl Scout troop did the same thing but we really needed the big equipment like I’m seeing here what a wonderful thing for community to do and honoring our pioneers of the area!! This is what the holiday weekend is all about- remembering our veterans and those that came before us.
