If you live or drive through Summit, Spanaway or Roy, prepare to divert plans or be surrounded by bicycles on the road July 15, 2023. The route map is located here. The STP – Seattle to Portland bicycle event is this weekend, July 15-16.

Generally, the bicycles pass through Pierce County between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. In Spanaway, there is a repair, supply and lunch stop for participants at Spanaway Middle School at 157th and B Street. The crews of cyclists usually meet up by automobile there as well. At 159th and Pacific, they will be using the traffic signal to get on Pacific Avenue and generally take over the right lane headed to the Roy-Y.

Please be courteous, cautious, and/or plan to drive another route if you can that day.
