August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day, the day will be commemorated as an Opioid Awareness Day from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Parkland.
The Opioid Task Force is inviting the community to come together on August 31st, International Overdose Awareness Day to honor those we have lost, and share our pain, our love and our hope together.
This event will be held in the courtyard of the Trinity Lutheran church, and will include open mic for stories and remembrance, naloxone station, the Key Project and refreshments of water and popsicles.

Parents, please talk to your children about this crisis. “It only takes one” is not a joke. Things have been laced with fentanyl that no one might suppose. Drugs on the black market have been found with 10 times the lethal dose. Caution is critical; avoidance is even better.
