It took several years for the Bethel School District, Franklin Pierce District and the faith leaders group to come up with a list, but back in the 1990’s the Core Qualities project was brought to fruition.

Teachers had posters in their classrooms with a good character quality to promote each month. Students did special projects based on that quality. My children were in school at that time. Now, looking a home schooling her own children, my daughter requested a copy of the poster.

With the issues of mental health and social media meddling in our lives, perhaps these basic qualities should make a comeback in our classrooms. Perhaps, they should be in a heads up display in our automobiles too.
