Nov. 15 Forum will feature how to put property in conservation which may reduce taxes

The Chambers Clover Creek Watershed Council will hold its annual Issues Forum, Preserving the future: Strategies and opportunities for land conservation, on November 15, 2023 at Cross Park in Frederickson. Doors open at 2:00 p.m. and the forum will begin at 2:30 p.m. Cross Park is located at 4420 Military Road East, Tacoma, WA.

Before the forum, there will be a tour of the headwaters of Clover Creek at the Tacoma Sportmen’s Club. All events are free, but will require an RSVP on Brown Paper Tickets. The link to RSVP is here. This forum will explore strategies for land conservation and public benefit, delving into taxation and the public benefit rating system. Attendees will also gain insights into the administration of conservation futures and the processes involved in transferring property to conservation initiatives.

The mission of the Chambers-Clover Creek Watershed Council is to promote the protection and enhancement of the Chambers-Clover Creek Watershed.

The Council (CCWC) provides an opportunity for local agencies and citizen groups to coordinate their efforts to benefit the watershed. The council is committed to improving the health of the watershed by working to improve fish habitat, water quality and foster a sense of stewardship among watershed residents.
