Spanaway? Concerned? Yep. March 2nd

If you live in Spanaway, there is a lot to be concerned about. From a tiny home village being proposed in a wetland, to a local lake that is toxic part of the year, to a concern for infrastructure like sidewalks and inadequate roads, Spanaway has many untended issues. You might know by now, groundwater is a particularly perilous one.

A local group called Spanaway Concerned Citizens formed recently regarding the tiny home village in the wetland between Spanaway Marsh and Spanaway Lake, west of Spanaway Loop Road. The group is holding a meeting for the public on March 2nd at the Parkland Spanaway Library at 4:30 pm.

April 30th, May 1st & May 3rd, Hearing Examiner on permit & SEPA on The Village

Statement from their website: The County issued a Mitigated Determination of Non-significance (MDNS) for the Village project.  An MDNS means that the County claims that the Village will not have any significant effect on the environment.  We believe, along with all 8 LUAC Commissioners, that an MDNS is completely inappropriate and negligent.  The sheer size of this project and its ongoing high-impact on one of our most critically environmentally sensitive areas necessitates an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
