Roy, Eatonville, Tacoma and JBLM, where to go on the 4th?
The Town of Eatonville will be celebrating on the 3rd and 4th of July. The Eatonville Business Association will light up the sky on July 3rd with a fireworks display. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the field behind Eatonville Elementary and Middle Schools. Fireworks at dusk. On July 4th, there is a parade down Mashel Avenue at noon. There is a story in the Eatonville Dispatch.
The City of Roy will have a parade at noon on the 4th of July. That event runs from the rodeo grounds along Warren Street to First then back on James St. to the rodeo grounds.
On the 3rd of July, there will be an event at the Roy Cemetery on 288th Street. A cemetery restoration group called The Experience is doing a 48 state tour and showing locals how to properly maintain and restore grave markers. The Facebook post says 6 am to noon for the training.
Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s Freedom Fest celebration was at Cowan and Memorial stadium Saturday, June 29, 2024. This choice was to prevent interfering with Tacoma’s celebration on the waterfront.
Tacoma’s Summer Blast is on July 4th from noon to 10:30 p.m. on Ruston Way at Cummings Park and Dune Peninsula. The event will include live music, food, entertainment, and craft vendors. The fun ends with spectacular fireworks over Puget Sound.
