on

Pierce County Planning and Public Works has scheduled a bridge closure for resurfacing on Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21, from 8 AM to 8 PM. Travelers should be aware that the road will be closed during this period and detours will be in place.

The closure is near the Benston Hall, between the Mountain Highway and Webster Road. You will not be able to travel between the Mountain Highway and Webster Road on 304th Street this weekend. That is a very big detour.

Closure Dates:  Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21
Closure Times: 8 AM to 8 PM
Location: 304th St E
Reason: Bridge resurfacing

Planning and Public Works will post information on project completion on the project website and the PPW Facebook page.

Please refer to the detour map below for guidance. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly and follow posted detour signs. For additional information about this project, please visit www.piercecountywa.gov/304thsteast.

Planned improvements to 304th Street East are intended to resurface and restore the roadway, and include the following:

  • Overlay the existing roadway.
  • Upgrade the guardrail at either end of the South Fork Muck Creek Tributary Bridge #5174-A.
  • Polyester-asphalt coating of Bridge #5174-A.
  • Installation of guideposts.
