Resolution 2024-268: A Resolution of the Pierce County Council Appointing ________________ as Pierce County Councilmember, Representing Council District No. Five. is set to be heard on Tuesday, January 7, 2025

The Pierce County Democrats through a meeting of the elected Precinct Committee Officers in Council District #5, have submitted three names to the Council for consideration.

Those three names submitted by the Pierce County Democrats are:

Kimber Starr
Brian Yambe
Jeremy Williams

No biographical information was available from the PC Dems as of yet. When they release something official, I will update this article. I did find information on LinkedIn for Kimber and on the City of Fife website for Brian. Jeremy was difficult to find information about. A friend told me he is a Longshoreman.

If you know any of them, or have an opinion that you would like to share with the Council, you can email, call, or attend the Council meeting on January 7, 2025 and comment.

Kimber Starr – Information from her LinkedIn Profile
I am a seasoned Government, Community Relations, and Nonprofit Leader, specializing in supporting and advocating for Communities of Color and First Nations; completed a Master of Public Administration (EMPA) from the University of Washington. Recognized for demonstrating a natural aptitude for establishing and strengthening public-private partnerships to achieve mutual goals, as well as for designing impactful programs and initiatives to progress equality at the local, state, and federal levels. Professional focal points include government relations, coalition building and outreach, participatory policymaking, policy development, lobbying and advocacy, program development and implementation, stakeholder engagement, strategic work planning, and legislative processes. Delivering superior administration on the latter areas of expertise requires utilization of effective communication and negotiation skills, as well as project management, performance assessment, and resource management to support efficiency and maximum returns.

Currently, I am the Principal and Owner of the Waya Group. Under my leadership, I partner closely with clients to provide strategic counsel around government relations challenges and opportunities; developing local, state, and federal advocacy work plans to advance clients’ vision and goals. In addition, I have directed statewide campaigns and successfully guided nonprofits through strategic planning and growth while ensuring organizational support structure drives progress forward with minimal expenditures.

Colleagues describe me as a progressive, driven, down-to-earth, strategic and innovative government affairs and community building expert who can be relied on to offer superior solutions that deliver positive outcomes in complex governance landscapes.
