The habitat stewardship event on CPTC’s Flett Property this Saturday, February 15th from 9:00 AM to noon. I have attached the flyer with pertinent details and all of the 2025 dates for our remaining habitat stewardship events.
For this event, we will focus on removal of invasive plant species (focus on scotch broom regrowth), planting donated Garry oak saplings (Thanks to Christina Manetti!), and possibly spreading native plant seed. We will provide gloves, tools, and snacks! If you have gloves and/or tools of your own that you prefer using, please feel free to bring them.
CPTC’s Outdoor Lab is across Steilacoom Blvd. from campus. We would appreciate it if folks would park on campus (enter campus at Hageness Drive, which is near Lakes Body Shop) and then walk across Steilacoom Blvd. to the Flett Property. Here is a Google Maps link to the suggested parking lot: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zqYDX1ogeJZemu5t5. You can cross the street at the Steilcoom Blvd. and Hageness Drive intersection. Don’t forget to dress for the weather and bring water to drink!
We appreciate your help and look forward to seeing you on Saturday! Please reach out if you have any questions or problems.
Best,
Derek R. Faust, Ph.D.
