Spanaway Concerned Citizen’s team did an outstanding job presenting to the Hearing Examiner numerous reasons for appealing Tacoma Rescue Mission’s permits. Unfortunately, our appeal was denied.
The good news is that the Tacoma Rescue Mission and the county were called out for their numerous violations. They know we are watching, reporting and will keep fighting to Stop The Village. The written decision from the Hearing Examiner is at here.
SCC is continuing to receive reports of fish dying. Hundreds of dead fish are washing up along the shores of Spanaway Lake, extending from the mouth of Coffee Creek. The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife has been out to the Spanaway Lake twice. We are waiting to see if and when they take any action.
Please continue to send in reports and photos of dead and dying fish. We are collecting information and are sharing this information with our partner, Friends of Spanaway Lake.
