Introduction to Healthcare Apprenticeship and Education Program

Arivva is providing a complimentary Introduction to Healthcare Apprenticeship and Education Program (IHAP) Phase 1. Registration will be open through May 12, 2025. Phase 1 accommodates up to 20 students and will take place at WorkSource Pierce from May 19 to June 6, 2025. Participants will receive Basic Lifesaving training/certification and a monetary stipend.

Graduates of IHAP Phase 1 can advance to IHAP Phase 2, Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) training, which is also offered at no cost and starts online on June 30, 2025. Completing students will be eligible for Washington state testing, certification, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities.

IHAP provides paid training for entry-level job seekers in the healthcare sector. Arivva seeks individuals interested in careers in the healthcare industry in Tacoma and Pierce County. Phase 1 classes are conducted in person. Students will explore healthcare careers and develop relevant job skills with the support of instructors, coaches, and mentors throughout both phases.

Phase 1 is a 45-hour program spanning three weeks and provides a solid foundation for healthcare careers. No prior experience required. It includes classroom time and some online learning. Participants will also learn about optional Phase 2 training for NA-C certification or apprenticeship, leading to full-time employment in healthcare.

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be low-income
  • Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • English language proficiency (ESL Level 5) and basic computer skills
