JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. — Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s Freedom Fest celebration will be held June 28 from 1–11 p.m. at Cowan and Memorial Stadiums on Joint Base Lewis-McChord Main. The headlining act, Grammy-nominated artist Hunter Hayes, will perform on the main stage at 8:30 p.m. The groundbreaking drone show will begin at 10 p.m. at Cowan Stadium followed by our fireworks display at full dark (about 10:15 p.m.).
Freedom Fest also offers fair food, the Freedom Wheels Auto Show, carnival rides, games, stage entertainment and kids’ stage acts, games, sponsor booth giveaways, roving entertainers and more. This event is free, apart from carnival rides and food, and is open to the general public. Non-DOD ID cardholders, without a DOD sponsor in the vehicle, must register online before entry. It is recommended that pre-registration be completed at least 48 hours before the event. Ages 18 and older require a Real ID-compliant license/ID.

PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR NON-DOD ATTENDEES:
New this year, due to the Real ID Act, an enhanced Washington state driver’s license, or other approved identification, will be required to access JBLM for Freedom Fest. A list of accepted identification can be found at the Freedom Fest website. All attendees aged 18 and older must present a REAL ID when entering the gates. Attendees ages 16 and 17 may present a school ID with a photo as their accepted ID.
All non-Department of Defense cardholders without a DOD sponsor in the same vehicle must register online to be vetted prior to entry. The registration link is available on the Freedom Fest website, JBLMfreedomfest.com. Guests riding in the same vehicle, without a DoD sponsor, may add information for each member of their party on the same registration form by clicking the blue “Add another attendee” button.
After submitting the online registration form, a text message confirming or denying access to the event will be sent to the phone number provided. Each person’s diver’s license used during submission becomes the attendee’s Freedom Fest event pass, valid for the event only. It is recommended that pre-registration be completed at least 48 hours before the event.
The general public is encouraged to use the DuPont Gate, park at the satellite parking area and take the shuttle to the event. All visitors to JBLM are subject to search, as are vehicles, purses, backpacks, and other hand-carried items entering the base. Visit the event website for a list of prohibited items.
Military ID card holders with installation access may enter at other gates. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis, and carpooling is encouraged when possible.
