August Field Trip
Join the Chambers Clover Watershed Council to learn about the Chambers Bay Estuary Restoration project’s efforts to remove the Chambers Creek dam.
The dam is an active fish passage barrier, but this also requires replacing the existing Chambers Creek bridge, and restore roughly 180 acres of estuary habitat.
This project will open approximately five and a half miles of fish habitat to five species of salmon and possibly will begin in about three years, depending on funding availability.
- When: Wednesday, August 20th at 3pm
- Where: Chambers Creek Dam Site in Steilacoom
- Additional opportunity: We’re coordinating a project update on the nearby housing development of the Cove at Chambers Bay and the Garrison Creek daylighting project with the Town of Steilacoom. This will be a 20–30-minute opportunity to learn more about emerging projects in the area.
