This year, life is good for Chinook Salmon at Chambers Bay. The Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) reported they released 532 Chinook salmon to finish their lives in Chambers Creek (see Escapement Report).
The last time this happened was August 1999, 25 years ago! This is truly historic and wonderful for people and fish.
Now, we want to get your reports of salmon sighted in Chambers Creek. How many, where, and what were they doing? (chasing another fish, swimming upstream, acting lifeless)
Al Schmauder is compiling data and photos. He will summarize and report back.
Thanks to David Troutt, Russ Ladley, Scott Steltzner, and Jason Smith the co-manager representatives for the Nisqually, Puyallup, Squaxin Tribes and WDFW.
So far, no one has seen any of these fish upstream. But they are coming. Keep looking.

Where can we send our information about salmon sightings? I live along chambers creek and have seen salmon spawning.
Got them!
Thank you for sharing. We are excited the fish are doing what they should be doing in that creek.
