Oct 11 Watershed Festival at CPTC

Just a reminder about the habitat stewardship event on CPTC’s Flett Property this Saturday, October 11th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.  Immediately following the stewardship event, we will be hosting the inaugural Clover-Chambers Watershed Festival from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Both of these events are in partnership with Green Tacoma Day as one of the host sites!  Thanks to those that have already signed up/registered!  If you plan on attending, please go to the Green Tacoma Day website and click the “Register Here” button; when registering select “CPTC Flett Outdoor Lab” as the site.  I have attached the flyer with pertinent details and all of the 2024 dates for our remaining habitat stewardship events.

For this event, we will focus on preparation for the Watershed Festival, along with removal of invasive plant species like scotch broom or Himalayan blackberry.  We will provide gloves, tools, Green Tacoma Day t-shirts, and snacks!

CPTC’s Outdoor Lab is across Steilacoom Blvd. from campus.  We would appreciate it if folks would park on campus (enter campus at Hageness Drive, which is near Lakes Body Shop) and then walk across Steilacoom Blvd. to the Flett Property.  Here is a Google Maps link to the suggested parking lot:  https://maps.app.goo.gl/zqYDX1ogeJZemu5t5.  You can cross the street at the Steilacoom Blvd. and Hageness Drive intersection.  Don’t forget to dress for the weather and bring water to drink!
