A few years ago, members of the Celebrate! Spanaway group created a Spanaway Business Directory with the help of Pierce County Councilwoman Barbara Gelman and the Pierce County Office of Economic Development. Use it to find services in the area.

The Celebrate! Spanaway Committee was formed in the late 1990’s by Jean Sensel, a business owner in the old Lake Park area of Spanaway, just south of the current county park. Other early group members included Joyce Swanson whose husband Carl was the son of old Spanaway’s blacksmith and Shirley Mathis.
