By evening Saturday, the 22nd Avenue and 176th Street intersection was graded and covered in a smooth coat of gravel. By about 10 p.m., the asphalt crew was expected to arrive and begin pouring the top coat. They are expected to finish around 5 a.m., leaving just the lines to paint of the new roadway.
Meanwhile, Spanaway is out and about on this warm Spring day. It was 75 degrees on the thermometer at the Post this afternoon. At 11:30 p.m. it was still very warm next to the fresh asphalt on 22nd Avenue. We hope you had a lovely time on such a nice day. Go to Spanaway Park now, they will start charging $3 to get in starting May 18th.
Here are photos of the latest roadway developments. Apparently passing 3 road closed signs doesn’t deter someone from Spanaway. While visiting with one flagger on the project, a woman drove up and asked how to get to Puyallup. She said her Garmin couldn’t give her the right directions (due to the roadwork) and she was lost. What did we do before electronic GPS’s in our cars?
