Board   of Trustees Meeting: Aug. 14
At its August   meeting Pierce County Library System’s Board of Trustees   will discuss grants for youth programs, Fife Library parking lot   improvements, the 2014 budget and other issues. The Board of Trustees will   meet at the Library’s Processing   and Administrative Center, 3005 112th St. E., in Tacoma, on   Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The meetings are open   to the public.

Fiction   Book Discussion Group: Aug. 15
All are welcome to join the Fiction Book Discussion Group, and share ideas   about “Noah’s Compass” by Anne Tyler.

Lakewood   Library 50th Anniversary Celebration: Aug. 17
Please come   and celebrate Lakewood Library’s 50 years of service in the Flora B. Tenzler   Library. Meet community leaders, rock out to a world-famous Beatles tribute   band, participate in free events and fun for all ages. You are welcome to   show your 60s pride and dress in 60s attire!
