At the end of the study session held prior to the meeting, Superintendent Frank Hewins mentioned the Franklin Pierce Foundation Meeting will be held February 4.
At the beginning of the meeting, Cole Roberts was re-elected to President of the board in his absence. John Harstad, who was running the meeting was elected Vice President of the board.
It was announced that the numbers are in from 2013 and the graduation rate for Franklin Pierce High was 93% and Washington High 87%. Congratulations, to the students, parents and staff, those a really great numbers.
A high school math book adoption committee is being formed and bids are being accepted for the Keithley Middle School renovation. The FP Nutrition Service has successfully gone through the USDA validation review for certification.
The Governor’s proclamation for School Board Appreciation month was read and the board members were handed certificates of appreciation.
Two students from ASB leadership at Franklin Pierce spoke on their efforts to improve the school, followed by two student from the JROTC program.
On January 21, everyone in the district is encouraged to wear “red for ed.” That date the school boosters will also be sign waving for the levy election.
Policies 5240, 14R01, and energy efficiency grant application were passed. More policies were up for a frist reading and will have a vote at a later meeting.
On February 11, the district levy reinstatement will be up for election.
