7th ID to change command in ceremony Tuesday

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – The 7th Infantry Division will hold a change of command ceremony at Watkins Field, Lewis Main, Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 2:00 p.m. During the ceremony, Maj. Gen. Stephen R. Lanza will relinquish command and Maj. Gen. Terry R. Ferrell will assume command of the Bayonet Division.

The 7th Inf. Div. commanding general is responsible for the training, deployment readiness, and health and welfare of more than 20,000 Soldiers in seven brigades: 2-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 3-2 SBCT, 4-2 SBCT, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, 17th Fires Brigade, 555th Engineer Brigade and 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Ferrell recently commanded the U.S. Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) in East Africa.
