As March 2014 breaks the recorded history for rainfall in a Washington March, I noticed the oxbow in Pioneer Valley is filling up this morning. This oxbow, part of the local water table appears to be part of an older waterway that may have drained historically as a waterfall into the Orting Valley and Puyallup River.
I hope none of you lives in the path of this rising water. In 1995, it also rose fairly high and inundated several houses in the area. The oxbow is part of the aquifer that is tied underground to Frederickson Lake.
