Winterfest at PLU east campus – almost 250 local families served

It was a cold but pleasant morning when the families began lining up at the old Parkland School Saturday December 13. The anticipation was building, coffee and other treats were available during the wait . Each family was invited to participate through other service providers, 400 in all. At the end, almost 250 attended.

Inside volunteers were bustling with gift wrapping, face painting, food preparation, reception, and letting people know about local services for medical and dental providers. In the gym, there were games for the kids as parents went into other rooms to choose toys, clothing and other items to gift wrap. Families left with smiles and bags of presents. Volunteers beamed with contentment.

Here are a few photos of the event, including Santa and PLU President Kreise and his wife.
