Since 1934, the Daffodil Festival has been a part of Pierce County’s lifestyle. From the events visited by each high school’s princesses, the Queen Coronation, maritime parade and the magnificent mutt show, to the Grand Floral Parade in in Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner and Orting, residents love showing off their communities.
This year’s Queen is Marin Sasaki of Orting. Her family has a long history of agriculture in the Puyallup Valley as well as a number of former princesses. She is the first in the family to be crowned Festival Queen.
The Tacoma, parade route is on Pacific Avenue from South 12th Street to 21st St. starting at 10:15 AM.
In Puyallup, the parade will begin on 7th Ave. SW., turn north on Meridian, West on Meeker, south on 3rd St SW and west of 4th Ave. SW, starting at 12:45 PM.
In Sumner, the parade will run on Main Street from the RR tracks to a block before Valley Ave. starting at 2:20 Pm
In Orting, the parade will run on Washington Ave from Bridge St to Whitsell. starting at 5 PM.
