The Fall Environmental Conference, Sept 28

The Fall Environmental Conference
                        From 9 am to noon.
                        September 28, 2024
                     At Sprinker Recreation Center.

Pierce County will have a new County Executive in two months, and this is a chance to chart a new course for the environmental interests in the county. This is a time of hope and opportunity for those who care about trees, water, environment, and other quality of life issues.

Since the 2002 passage of the Parkland-Spanaway-Midland Communities Plan and establishment of the PSM Land Use Advisory Commission, there have been many changes by forces interested in development and crowding in as many houses per acre as possible. It is possible there will be a more community-friendly government, soon that might:

  • Improve Garfield Street
  • Get sidewalks, crossing islands and trees on Highway 7
  • Put the first protections on our waterways & open space
  • Save Sprinker Recreation Center from closing

Now is the opportunity for our voices to matter again. Let’s share visions for changes that are possible with a new, pro-community county government.

This event is a chance to speak and be heard.

Come to the conference prepared to talk about:

  • Your dreams for Parkland-Spanaway-Midland: for parks, waterways, commercial areas, arterials
  • What you think the county can do to make our community a more livable and thriving community
  • What you need from our Parkland-Spanaway Midland Land Use Advisory Commission
  • What you want from elected leaders

Your invited to The Fall Environmental Conference, from 9 am to noon, September 28, 2024 at Sprinker Recreation Center. Admission is free. This is a friend raiser not a fundraiser.
