Be very careful driving Waller Road and Military Road this Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The roads are part of the route for the Annual Cascade Bicycle Club Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic.
It is common for the bicycles to ride in groups. They do try to get single file as much as possible, but sometimes they are in wider clusters.
So please drive safely! Best to avoid the area if possible.
Spanaway Middle School is a major stop on the route where the riders take a rest, toilet, and fuel up themselves. There are vendors that repair bicycles, health screenings, sunscreen, ice cream and volunteers with lots of snacks for the participants.
The ride is two days, Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 12. They leave parking lot E-18 at the University of Washington around 5 a.m. and the fastest ones are in Spanaway before 7 a.m. Be careful and have fun. They will ride right past the Sprinker 50th Anniversary celebration.
