To the readers, subscribers, and supporters of the Pierce Prairie Post. Thank you for your interest and attention.
The past two months have been difficult for the Pierce Prairie Post. It was time to call it quits with a landlord that was continually raising rent and blaming their renters for things that were caused by local plants, wildlife, and weather. So, the PPP has had the expense of relocating to a more suitable, and quieter neighborhood.
In addition, the landlord used these excuses from seven years of normal wear and tear, to absorb rather than return any of the initial security deposit. At the same time, our bank decided to put a two week hold on a deposit we were counting on as income. In addition, there are exceptional legal and medical expenses that have become due at this time. If you haven’t seen our editor, Marianne, recently, she was required to have a molar pulled and her face has been black and blue and swollen all week. That dentistry postponed her planned hip replacement that was covered by insurance, not so the tooth. Not all news is bad, however, the cancer treatment she has been receiving for the past four years was officially completed Friday. No bells or parties, just done.
Since not many of you have taken advantage of the $10/year special subscription rate, we need to ask again if you would please be willing to donate to help the Post get through this exceptional period. The need is about $2000. Any help toward that would be greatly appreciated.
On the menu bar above, there is a donate tab. That takes you to our PayPal site. If you prefer to use Venmo or Zelle, please contact Marianne directly to find out how you can do this.
Thank you for your interest and support for the Pierce Prairie Post. We hope to continue to bring you in-depth reporting on local issues and events near your neighborhood.
