AASA grants District and Franklin Pierce Youth First $2,000 for Emergency Family Fund

FRANKLIN PIERCE SCHOOL DISTRICT —  Franklin Pierce Schools was recently announced a recipient of the “Helping Kids Program” grant in the amount of $2,000. This grant is offered by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA). Funding will be used in 2014 for the Emergency Family Fund, which was started by Franklin Pierce Youth First several years ago and continues on a small level.

The grant opportunity with the district will allow expansion of the program in 2014. The fund addresses unmet needs of youth and their families to help kids stay healthy and engaged in school. The Emergency Family Fund fills some of the resource gaps in the community by supporting basic needs in the categories of shelter, utilities, food, transportation and medical/dental expenses.
