Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive

Sixth grade students at Cascade Christian School’s Frederickson campus held a peanut butter and jelly drive to benefit the Bethel Family Center.009

Kim Sando is a Cascade parent and also volunteers at the BFC. She helped to organize the drive. “The sixth graders at Cascade Christian decided to do a service project. I told them about the generous donation from Franz bakery every week to the Bethel Family Center and how these kids don’t have anything to go with the bread. That was powerful to them, that kids in their own neighborhoods don’t have basic things like this. So they decided to fill the sandwiches with peanut butter and jelly.”

The students brought in 369 jars to Bethel Family Center coordinator Jill Palmer. Palmer said, “We have so many homeless students each day who come to school hungry and now when we provide bread, they can make a nutritious sandwich!”
