SPANAWAY, WA — Today, August 14, marks the 2nd anniversary of the Pierce Prairie Post. On this day in 2012, with the help of Ben Sclair of the Suburban Times, The Post became a reality.

In the past two years, we have posted over 2060 stories about the communities, people and history of South Pierce County from Midland to McKenna. We have been viewed over 145,600 times and have had days with as many as 3,182 views.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed press releases and photos to the Post for the community to read. If  you have an important event in this area, please send your information to us. We will do our best to get it in. You are the ones who keep this going as a resource for the community.

All that said, your editor is about to take a brief vacation. It is a special event in her life and she hops you will all understand if she misses a day or two posting. Truly, we are not sure if there will always be an Internet signal where she stays in Canada. 

In the meantime, don’t miss the Garfield Street Fair and Mural dedication Saturday. The school news is updated with the school links and start dates for the 1014-15 school year.
