Rocky Ridge Elementary staff and students invite the community to join them for a special concert featuring stars of ‘The Voice’ Jason Kertson & Emily Randolph. The focus of the concert is to ‘Rock the Ridge’ and get more votes for Elissa Dornan – one of 15 national finalists in the Farmers Insurance Dream Big Teacher Challenge.
Kertson and Randolph – who both hail from Pierce County – appeared on Season 5 of NBC’s hit show ‘The Voice.’ The concert is set for this Saturday, Nov. 1 at Graham-Kapowsin High School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Performances start at 6.p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Dornan’s proposal to ‘Rock the Ridge with Digital Learning’ is the only Washington entry in the $100,000 Dream Big contest. Rocky Ridge is competing directly with two other schools in Idaho and Montana. The school with the most votes when the contest ends on Nov. 30 will win. Community members can vote as many times as they want for Dornan’s project at www.thankamillionteachers.com.
Rocky Ridge elementary is located in the Bethel School District in southeast Pierce County.
