In accordance with the National Letter of Intent Signing Day, Graham-Kapowsin High School will hold a special ceremony to honor three students that are announcing their official college plans. The signing ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the athletes and families, that are making it to the next level and giving them additional opportunities to be surrounded by their loved ones in a major time in their life. The event will be held Feb. 1 in the GKHS Auditorium starting at 9:15 a.m. Participating students include:
Football Foster Sarell Stanford University
Football Matt Shook Eastern Washington University
Soccer Jacob Baker Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
About the athletes
Foster Sarell is one the nation’s top football recruits. As a senior, Sarell played in the All American Bowl and received the Anthony Munoz Offensive Lineman of the Year Award. He is the SPSL Football MVP of the Year and was named to both the All-Area and All-State Teams.
Matt Shook is one of Sarell’s teammates on the Eagles’ offense line. In addition to making the 2nd All-Area Team, Shook received 1st Team SPSL All-League honors and was a selection to the East/West Shrine Football Game.
Jacob Baker is a midfielder on the Eagles’ Boys Soccer team. Last spring, he earned back-to-back 1st Team SPSL All-League honors. He also plays in the US Youth Soccer National League.
