Saturday was the annual Freddie Fest at the Sound Life Church on the corner of 176th Street and 36th Avenue, just south of Clover Creek Elementary School. It was a day almost as hot as the chili in the contest. Hundreds of beautiful restored cars, trucks and vans, almost a dozen chili competitors, vendors, bouncy toys and food trucks were there. Pierce County brought its land use documentation on Centers and Corridors, which will soon transform the area near the event.
The People’s Choice winner for chili was the 723 Networking Group, the judges winner was the Bethel School District food service program from the Skills Center. The Frederickson Clover Creek Community Council plans the event all year long and the handful of people involved deserve a round of applause for the hard work they do every year!
