SPANAWAY, WA — The Ace Hardware known locally as South End Hardware suffered a roof collapse from the snow and rainwater load. The business will be closed until repairs can be completed.
We are wishing Owner Brian Stead and his employees well as they clean up and rebuild. The South End Hardware is almost a historic landmark of the community.
This is a developing story. More information will be added as details become available.
I am sorry to hear about the damage caused by the recent snow storm. I am glad they are only closed temporarily until repairs are made. I love this store and the people that work there. Very helpful and great to interact with!

So sad that South End Hardware/Ace Hardware is closed. Love those people – they are kind, knowledgable and have loads of things you need that you cant always find any place else. Been going there for a long time and pray you will be open soon. . . .
Prayers for you all. It won’t be the same around here until you are up and running again!
I miss the store snd the friendly employees as well…wishing you all luck and hope to see you open soon, the community misses you
I miss this store. Since moving to area in early 1970s, this was the hardware store we had been going to. The people are so kind and knowledgeable. No other store compares. Will it re-open soon?
Great store and staff. Any word on repairs. Looks like some started but stalled.
Please hurry and fix things. We miss you terribly!
So looking for it to reopen. We love this ACE.
When are you going to reopen your store?
PPP saw a post on Facebook that said it would be after the first of the year, 2020.
