Closures due to excessive heat

June 28, 2021, there may be unexpected closures in public facilities and programs.

The Bethel School district is not offering its free lunch program out of concern for people being out in the extreme heat on this record heat wave day. The program will resume on Tuesday, June 29.

Pierce County Parks will be closing the Spanaway Lake Golf Course at noon, out of caution in the extreme heat. Thisis their announcement:

Early closure for Lake Spanaway Golf Course – June 28

Due to excessive heat, Lake Spanaway Golf Course will close the first tee at 12 noon and the clubhouse will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28. Lake Spanaway Clubhouse 253-531-3660.
