Touch a Truck – Sept 12

Does your child have a love for trucks and large vehicles? Then check out Pierce County’s Touch A Truck free family-friendly event where the young and young at heart love to climb, run around, sit in, and even honk the horns of trucks and large vehicles seen throughout the county.

The event takes place from 10 am to 1pm.

  • A special no-horns time is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for sensory-sensitive children.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult. 
  • Prepare for the weather because this event will take place rain or shine.

The event takes place at Sprinker Recreation Center parking lot, 521 Military Road S., Tacoma, WA 98444.

Types of Rigs

Come explore a fire engine, semi-trucks, first responder vehicles, search and rescue vehicles, bucket trucks, striper, tractors, garbage truck, Joint Information Center, school bus, and so many more. 

Operators will be on hand to answer questions and share how each vehicle works and what role their vehicle plays in the community. Many of the vehicles will be representing Pierce County Planning & Public Works, Surface Water Management, Pierce County Emergency Management, the Fire Department, Sheriff’s Department, Parks and Recreation, LeMay, Gene’s Towing, Bethel School District, Washington State Patrol, U-Haul, Marine Service Unit, and more.
