Historic Thiel-Dudleston Road sign – R2026-212

Proposed Resolution No. R2026-212 Title: A Resolution of the Pierce County Council Approving the Installation of a Historic ‘Thiel-Dudleston Rd.’ Sign at the Intersection of 176th Street E and 22nd Ave E, to Recognize the Historic Legacy of the Homesteaders Who Lived There.

On November 3, 2026, this resolution will make its debut on the County Council consent agenda. There is usually no comment for consent agenda. The resolution will move to the Rules and Operations Committee on November 16 at 10 a.m.

This sign was proposed by Loretta Fulk for 22nd Avenue and 176th Street. The Dudleston farm was on 22nd Avenue at about 183rd Street. The Thiel farm was at 22nd Avenue and 208th Street and is currently becoming a housing development. These two families built the original road which is now called 22nd Avenue, up to 176th Street. Neither of the historic homes remain.

The northern part of 22nd Avenue was called Rademaker Road. The Rademaker house is still standing at 15703 22nd Avenue.
