JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – JBLM will conduct a live-fire training exercise on Wednesday, at 3 p.m. involving helicopters, artillery and mortars, and other weapons systems. The unit conducting the training will also rehearse the live-fire training exercise throughout the day on Tuesday.
Increased levels of noise will be noticed Tuesday and Wednesday.
This is required training, which allows military members to practice and improve skills necessary during combat. As often as possible, JBLM conducts larger scale training and artillery firing at the JBLM Yakima Training Center in an effort to minimize inconvenience for the surrounding communities. However, some training must take place on base.
Queries or comments about noise may be directed to the JBLM Public Affairs Office’s External Communication Division hotline at (253) 967-0852, daily.
