April 23 is the Norwegian Heritage Festival at PLU. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. The festival will be held in PLU’s University Center.
The festival will be followed by a lecture about Edvard Munch at 4 p.m. April 23, 4 p.m., Scandinavian Cultural Center (SCC). Allison Morehead from Queen’s University, Associate Professor of Art History, will speak on the topic of “Munch and Medicine.”

On another note, the Tacoma Art Museum, in honor of PLU’s 125th Anniversary, is sponsoring a Edvard Munch exhibit. It began April 9 and runs through July.
May 17 Norwegian Americans have the opportunity to be at PLU’s Red Square at 8:30 a.m. for the official flag raising (US & Norway). It is their celebration of the Norwegian Constitution Day. There is also a reception following in the Scandinavian Cultural Center in the lower level of the Anderson University Center.
