This is the map of Pierce County with the areas in orange where annexations are possible in Pierce County, WA.

The area over JBLM is controversial due t it being a Federal installation. In 1997, JBLM issued a letter that they did not wish to be annexed as that would place one neighboring jurisdiction  in a position of favor over the other neighboring cities.
