The Pierce County Sheriff Department Hazardous Devices Squad (Bomb Squad) will be responding to fireworks calls and suspicious improvised devices as usual throughout the July 4^th holiday.  The following information is given to assist in the processing and storage of fireworks.  Guidelines are also provided as to when to call for HDS.

Fireworks:

Attached are photos of legal state authorized consumer fireworks and illegal fireworks.

Storage:

The South Hill Precinct is the primary storage area for fireworks.  All fireworks should be left in the original packaging if possible or placed in paper sacks.

A detachment may temporarily store a small quantity of fireworks until HDS is notified for pickup.  University Place Police and Fire Department have a large metal container available for the west side.  All other patrol areas should use South Hill outside storage locker (the storage locker used for combustibles, first cage on the right…
