Rent, property taxes and Post Office Boxes are all higher. Yes, even the Post Office Box for the Spanaway Community Association keeps going up. The PO Box annual cost is now more than the monthly rent on my first home. How times change.
If you can chip in a few dollars to help, it would be appreciated. Since my being ill with cancer, a knee repair and anemia, I have not been able to hold any other employment. The Pierce Prairie Post is not a paid gig, and there are some expenses my Social Security doesn’t cover. The donation tab is at the top of this page, it processes through PayPal.
Keep your ears and eyes open for grants for small community newspapers. Maybe one day soon, the PPP can grow up and be a real newspaper, with print copy and advertisements. We are working on some sponsored articles at this time. Something’s gotta give.
And just for fun, a little news buried in this ask. The Superintendent of the Bethel School District announced Wednesday at the Mid-County Leadership meeting at PLU, that he is retiring at the end of this school year. There was also a little something about his wedding in April being involved in that decision.
Tuesday Feb. 6, PLU is also making a big announcement. Sounds like changes are coming to Spanaway this Spring.

?? Is the donate button on the email?? Thank you for doing a marvelous and thankless job. You’re very very good! I appreciate what it takes to do what you do. Coleen Cole
