A memorial was quickly organized by members of the Spanaway Lake High School Music Company for Kristi and Violet Holmes, who were found murdered today in Spanaway. The older daughter of Mrs. Holmes, Brooke House graduated from Spanaway Lake High School last year. She was involved in the well known singing group, the Music Company. Members paid tribute to the mother, who had been a volunteer for the group and her younger daughter. Music Company members had been posting about it today on Facebook, trying not to reveal any details. This evening, they are talking about how moving and meaningful the event was. Brooke was in attendance.

Raymond Malimban: The candle lit vigil went really well. Many people turned up to show just how they meant to them. There were some wonderful words and prayers given and the Music Company performed “I Will Remember You/I Will Always Love You” and “In Remembrance” as tributes to Kristie and Violet. The part that warmed my heart was seeing Brooke stay strong and smiling with everyone. She is truly a strong and inspiring person.

Kudos to the SLHS Music Company for organizing this event so quickly. The community and especially the neighborhood are saddened by the senseless loss of two innocent people. It’s good to know so many hearts are still in the right place. Our prayers and support will be with Brooke as she faces some tough days ahead.
