The Rotary Club of Parkland Spanaway held their fourth annual Surrender The Booty Bash at the McGavick Center in Lakewood Saturday and a fine time was had by all the pirates and wenches.
According to one reveller, it’s their annual opportunity to dress up like pirates and have drinks with their friends. Actually, it is a very well run fundraiser that brings thousands of dollars to the service club each year. Hundreds of silent auction items, live auction items like trips and big screen tv, a dessert auction, raffles, a soggy dollar bar, and a heads or tails auction were all part of the fun. A special “raise the paddle” auction was held to raise funds toward a new 9 hole course for wounded and disabled veterans at the American Lake Veterans Golf Course.
Warthog Barbeque Pit catered the event. The ribs and chicken were great, but their appetizer meatballs stole the show.
Here ‘ARRR’ a few moments captured from the evenings events.
