There have been several recent hearings held by Pierce County on something being called Vision 2030.
Fairly unknown, but potent part of that vision being crafted by the Puget Sound Regional Council – a board made up of elected officials, but not elected as a body – is a requirement to end the proliferation of unincorporated urban areas.
Let me translate: Annexation or Incorporation, no more dense unincorporated areas. South Hill, Spanaway, Parkland, Frederickson and even McKenna fall into this category. Who will you become?
Now the County Council has an additional item coming on the agenda soon. Read this and put on your thinking caps. What do we do next? Are we really to belive this is only about little unincorporated places between existing cities?
