Monday’s Roy City Council meeting was Volunteer Appreciation Night. Many people from town were recognized for their volunteer services. Among those recognized, were the 555th Batallion from JBLM,the Lions, the grange, library volunteers, police department volunteers and a couple fellows who mow the grass along the railroad tracks, Jess and Charlie. Specific recognitions will be on the city webpage.
The council passed resolution, the comprehensive transportation improvement plan. The city also noted there are ongoing discussions over the city lot which is occupied by the parking lot for City Hall. The city’s lease expired and they have not come to an agreement over a future lease. For now, cones block off the entry.
