This isn’t South Pierce County, but some of its history ties together. Jacob’s Point Park was the former site of a brick making plant. The clay used was also used by the Hudson’s Bay Company to make bricks that were found at Fort Steilacoom, at the Muck Creek homes of John McLeod and Henry Murray and Fort Nisqually.
Anderson Island is having a dedication for Jacobs Point on Saturday July 19th at 11AM. You are invited to come and see the beautiful new park and signs. There will be some brown bag lunches for our off-island guests, don’t worry about food. Wear your walking shoes, there will be a tour of the park.
Please let Carol Paschal Anderson Island Park and Recreation District know if you will attend.
